Role
A teaching role in the BSc Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft, within the faculty’s design drawing education coordinated by Jan Willem Hoftijzer. As a Gravity Sketch Certified Trainer, I taught bachelor students how to use Gravity Sketch and VR sketching in their design process, from their first strokes in 3D to clear, communicable product concepts.

Teaching Vision
Sketching is how designers think, and VR sketching adds a new dimension to it, literally. The goal was to show students that immersive tools build on freehand sketching rather than replace it: they help students understand volume, proportion and scale from the very first idea, in a way paper and screens can’t.
Through hands-on sessions, students learned to move between paper, screen and VR, and to choose the right tool for each phase of the design process. The focus stayed on design communication: sketching to explore, sketching to decide, and sketching to convince.

The course is part of TU Delft’s long tradition in design drawing education, documented on Delft Design Drawing. It sits alongside my work as a guest lecturer in the IDE master programme on VR sketching and computational design with Grasshopper.
