Role
A self-initiated research project exploring how VR sketching can reshape the early stages of road bike design. More than designing a single bicycle, Sentiero is a workflow study: a strategic look at where immersive tools such as Gravity Sketch fit in a professional design process, what they replace, and what they make possible. I led the project from start to finish: research, sketching in VR, translation into CAD, and the definition of a repeatable workflow.

Design Vision
A road bike is all about proportion. Tube angles, stack and reach, and the way the frame meets the rider are hard to judge on a flat screen or a sheet of paper. VR sketching lets the designer work at 1:1 scale from the very first line, walking around the frame, sitting “on” it, and correcting proportions before a single CAD surface is built.
Sentiero tests this idea step by step. It maps a hybrid workflow: quick 2D ideation, then volumetric sketching in VR, then refinement in CAD. It measures where time is saved, where decisions get better, and where the traditional tools still win. The outcome is less a product and more a design strategy: a clear, transferable method for bringing immersive sketching into the industrial design workflow.

The project draws on my experience as a Gravity Sketch Certified Trainer and guest lecturer in VR sketching at TU Delft, and it feeds directly into how I teach and apply immersive design tools today.
